Williams Bay kicks off Centennial Celebration

This week’s Warm-Up encourages guests to party ‘like it’s 1919’

The Village of Williams Bay welcomes all to the kick-off event of its Centennial Celebration next week.

The “speak easy themed” Warm-Up Party will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 at Privato, Williams Bay.

“Geneva Lake is such a huge part of the Williams Bay community, we wanted to be sure to have an event early enough in the season to allow our summer residents to join in on the fun,” said Jim D’Allessandro of the Williams Bay Business Association, a co-sponsor of the Centennial Celebration along with the Village of Williams Bay.

“The warm-up party is for everyone. It is a roaring 20’s inspired theme, like our town’s birth, so we’re encouraging period attire. It will be a great time. We hope everyone can join us,” D’Allessandro added.

The party begins at Café Calamari’s Privato, 2 West Geneva St. in Williams Bay at 4 p.m. Complimentary food begins at 5 p.m.

Guests will be entertained with a cash bar and raffle of “great” prizes from local businesses and they must be present to win.

Finally, at 7 p.m., live music will begin for dancing with the Big Al Wetzel Band.

“The Warm-Up Celebration begins the countdown to our Centennial on October 19th. The Centennial will be held in Edgewater Park, or if raining, Williams Bay School,” D’Allesandro said.

But between Sept. 19 and Oct. 19, there will be a variety of events and specials hosted throughout the village, he said.

“Like a history exhibit at the Barrett Memorial Library. Williams Bay cordially invites all to party like its 1919,” D’Allesandro said. “We’ll see you at Privato!”
