Badger swim team wins SLC Relays

The Lake Geneva Badger co-op swim team won the Southern Lakes Conference Relays on Sept. 5 in Delavan with 200 points. Burlington came in second with 195.

The Badgers won the event despite winning only one individual event, the 220-yard fly (Lilly Westlund, Zoe McNeil, Callie Ceshker, Lauren O’Brien; 1:55.28). The Badgers came out on top due to eight other top three finishes.

Badger took second in the 200-yard free (McNeil, Mackenzie Farm, Chopper Ceshker, Addi Nelson; 1:48.59), the 400-yard breaststroke (O’Brien, Farm, Ella Eck, Morgan Hallatt; 5:13.53), and the 400-yard freestyle (O’Brien, Eck, Kearyn Brennan, Callie Ceshker; 3:47.34).

The Badgers took third in the 200-yard medley (Brennan, O’Brien, Eck, Callie Ceshker; 1:58.30), the 400-yard IM (Hallatt, Westlund, Callie Ceshker, Chopper Chesker; 4:36.98), the 1,000-yard freestyle (Eck, Brennan, Westlund, Chopper Ceshker; 11:06.08), the 500-yard freestyle (Farm, Nelson, Chopper Ceshker, Hailey Mraz; 5:20.94), and the 400-yard backstroke (Brennan, Mraz, McNeil, Nelson; 4:29.90).

The Badgers finished second at the Red Raider Invitational at Wauwatosa East on Sept. 7 with 355 points. West Bend West/East won the event with 382 points.

The Badgers finished first in the 100-yard freestyle (Callie Ceshker; 54.92), the 200-yard freestyle relay (McNeil, Brennan, O’Brien, Callie Ceshker; 1:44.90), and the 400-yard freestyle relay (Brennan, Eck, O’Brien, Callie Ceshker; 3:50.47).

Other top finishes for the Badgers included second in the 200-yard freestyle (Chopper Ceshker; 2:07.79), the 50-yard freestyle (Callie Ceshker; 24.97), and the 100-yard breaststroke (O’Brien; 1:15.43) and third in the 200-yard IM (Eck; 2:28.47), and the 100-yard butterfly (O’Brien; 1:04.62).
