The 2019 cross country season took off Aug. 29 with the Palmyra-Eagle Invitational, where runners from 16 schools enjoyed what was described by many as a perfect day for running at Carlin-Weld Park. The top finisher for the Elkhorn boys was sophomore Drew Davey who finished third out of 68; leading the EAHS girls was senior Gwen Richardson (right) who finished fifth out of 66. As a team the EAHS boys and girls were third and fourth, respectively. See more Elkhorn sports in the Independent. (Bob Mischka photo)
