ANTHONY BURBACH

Anthony Burbach, 81, formerly of East Troy, found peace July 25, 2019, in South Milwaukee. He was born in West Allis to Henry and Marie (nee Hotter) Burbach.

He was a Pius High School graduate.

After graduation in 1955 Anthony joined the brotherhood, became a Benedictine Monk, and took on the name of Maur Burbach.

For some time Brother Maur worked as a printer in New Mexico, as well as serving as the sheriff and the municipal judge.

He returned to Milwaukee in 1980 and worked as a food service manager for Archbishop Cousin Center until retirement.

Maur had a passion for woodworking and has many fine masterpieces to his name.

Anthony is the beloved brother of Kathy (Richard) Phillips and Joseph Burbach. Loving Uncle to Richard (Judith) Phillips. Special great-uncle to Julianne Nolan, Matthew, Christopher, Michael, Sarah, Ruth, Daniel, Isaac and Hannah.

Anthony is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Ed Hojnacki for his constant care and help for Anthony.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday Aug. 12, at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 1975 Beulah Ave., East Troy.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.

Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, has the honor of serving the family.
