Rotary Club celebrates award winner

Mary Kriete-Green named 2019 Service Above Self honoree

The Geneva Lake West Rotary recently announced Mary Kriete-Green as its 2019 Service Above Self award winner.

Kriete-Green is one of the founders of Dan Green Touch a Life, Heal a Heart Charity. The charity’s big fundraiser, the Pig in the Park, is fast approaching and will be on Saturday, July 13. It’s the 11th year for the Pig in the Park.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s Pig in the Park event will go to the Fontana Parks and the remainder to Children’s Oncology, which is supported through the Conference Point Center. The center is able to sponsor campers through the Children’s Oncology.

Kriete-Green is also a co-host for Rockin’ for a Reason. This is Rockin’s second year and the event is held the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. That group works with the charitable organization, The Farm Way.

The Dan Green Organization also works with the Santa Cause Cruises and Tree Festival, and volunteers at the Fire & Ice Fundraiser.

Kriete-Green said she is honored and is excited to receive this award.

“The Geneva Lake West Rotary Club wants to congratulate Mary on receiving this award. She was nominated by our Rotary Club as this year’s recipient for all the hard work she does to give back to this community. She really a person who puts, Service Above Self,” a release from the club said.
