Though the Meijer grocery chain has committed to building near the new Fleet Farm store in Delavan, Burger King will beat the big box store in breaking ground. The Common Council approved a resolution that paves the way for the fast food restaurant that formerly occupied the space Walgreen’s currently sits on to build a new restaurant late this summer.

The Council approved a resolution for a planned infill development amendment to the official zoning map for an implementation plan for the property on the south side of East Geneva Street between Interstate 43 and Lakeside Boulevard. The plan is for Cave Enterprises, Inc. to close on the property within a month and begin construction shortly thereafter with an expected build time of 90 days.

The 3,200 square foot restaurant will have two drive-through lanes and outdoor seating on a 51,200 square foot parcel.
