Man charged with taking money for project

An initial appearance is scheduled for June 17 for an Illinois man charged with taking money from a Bloomfield contractor for materials but failing to provide the supplies.

John M. Krisky Jr., 49, of Spring Grove, Illinois, was charged May 23 in Walworth County Circuit Court with theft in a business setting of $10,000 to $100,000.

According to the criminal complaint, the owner of Tim’s Heating in the Village of Bloomfield hired Krisky, the owner of Duckwork Inc., to supply materials for Tim’s Heating to install heating, ventilation and air conditioning at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Krisky’s estimate for the materials was $35,500, and Tim’s Heating issued Kristy an initial check for $17,000 and was provided $13,328 worth of materials, the complaint states. Tim’s Heating issued the final payment of $19,948 in June 2018, but Krisky provided no further materials for the project, according to the complaint.

The owner of Tim’s Heating called, texted and mailed Krisky to discuss the matter, but Krisky stopped responding to the owner’s messages in November, the complaint states.
