Earning its second win of the season last week came by way of a 10-0 shutout thanks to on-point pitching by Jasmin Speth.

The Delavan-Darien High School softball team was 1-8 going into the past week with four games on the schedule.

On May 6, the Comets faced Big Foot and delivered the 10-0 shutout. In that game, DDHS scored five runs in the opening inning to get things going.

“We have come to understand that no matter of the team we are playing, there are no easy wins,” said Comets head coach Hank Johnson. “We won this game, but had some mistakes that we still need to correct. However, we are proud of the way the girls responded on a cold day.”
