For the first time this spring, the Big Foot-Williams Bay girls soccer team experienced a bit of adversity last week.

But the Chiefs certainly bounced back in a big way.

Big Foot dropped its first decision of the season April 26 in a 2-1 Rock Valley Conference loss to Evansville, but took control from the start Monday in a 5-1 victory over visiting East Troy.

The win improved the Chiefs to 6-1.

Abby Van de Bogert led the way with two goals, followed by Taylor Barkes, Madison West and Kaitlyn Colquhoun with one each. Abby Peterson had three assists, and goalie Maylani Venegas had three saves.

Evansville held a 2-1 lead at halftime April 26 and made that hold up in the conference victory. Peterson had the Chiefs’ only goal.

Big Foot opened its week with a 5-0 victory April 25 over visiting Jefferson. Peterson had two goals and an assist, followed by Hannah Palmer with a goal and an assist and Colquhoun and Molly McEneany each with a goal.

Venegas had two saves in the win.

Big Foot was set to host Clinton on Thursday in a 6:45 p.m. game at Williams Bay, followed by a road contest Tuesday at Whitewater.
