Bridge maintenance over Highway 12 to include over-night closures next week

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is notifying motorists of upcoming overnight closures along westbound Highway 12 near Lake Geneva in Walworth County.

Next week, maintenance crews will finalize repainting a bridge girder on the structure carrying Sheridan Springs Road over Highway 12 westbound.

Both lanes of Highway 12 westbound will be closed overnight between highways 50 and 120. The night closures will run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. May 6 to 10.

Sheridan Springs Road and eastbound Highway 12 will remain open.

Westbound detour

Motorists heading westbound along Highway 12 should exit at Highway 50 and head west to North Edwards Boulevard. This roadway runs parallel to the highway. After taking a right turn onto North Edwards Boulevard, motorists can make another right turn onto Interchange North (Road) to access the Highway 12 westbound on-ramp.

This work is heavily dependent on weather and is subject to change. More information on traffic conditions, work zones and travel times can be found at www.511wi.gov.
