Through the first 10 games of the 2012-2013 season, it seemed like East Troy’s Brett Prahl always hung right around his average of 16.6 points per game.

And there’s certainly nothing wrong with that production – but Prahl must have decided Monday night that it wasn’t enough.

So he almost doubled his average.

Prahl exploded for 31 points Monday to lead the Trojans past visiting Pewaukee 72-58 in a non-conference contest. The win improved East Troy, ranked fifth in Division 3, to 9-2 overall, while Pewaukee fell to 10-4.

East Troy took control early with a 19-7 first quarter and increased that lead to 41-19 by halftime. The Pirates outscored the Trojans 39-32 in the second half, but it wasn’t nearly enough to overcome East Troy’s fast start.

Nate Dodge added 15 points to go with Prahl’s 31, followed by Matt Kaminski with 11 on the strength of three 3-pointers. Alex Prahl chipped in with nine.

Three Trojans scored in double figures to lead East Troy past visiting Whitewater 68-30 in a Rock Valley Conference contest Friday night.

East Troy turned a six-point first-quarter lead into a commanding 34-13 bulge by halftime and never looked back. The Trojans held the Whippets to just seven points total in the middle two quarters.

Dodge had 17 points to lead the way, followed by Alex Prahl with 15 and Brett Prahl with 14.

East Troy was back in action Thursday night against visiting Big Foot. The Trojans hit the road Tuesday, Jan. 15, to face Parkview. Both RVC contests begin at 7:15 p.m.

Big Foot entered the game at 3-7 overall after a 57-52 non-conference loss to Southern Lakes Conference foe Elkhorn Monday night. The Chiefs are 3-3 in the RVC.

Parkview held a 15-14 advantage over South Division leader Clinton Monday night but couldn’t make it stand up in a 66-43 loss. The Vikings are 2-10 overall and 2-5 in the RVC.
