Women’s Club event includes dinner, silent auction and raffles

The Elkhorn Women’s Club is gearing up for its annual Card and Game Night, which supports the club’s mission to offer scholarships to local high school students.

The Wednesday, April 10 event will be at the Monte Carlo Room, 720 Wisconsin St. in Elkhorn and carry on what has been a tradition in Elkhorn for many years.

Card and Game Night is a time for friends to gather and play their favorite card game, or, for those who are not card players, they’re invited to bring along their favorite board game, or stop by and enjoy time with friends – old and new.

A pasta buffet dinner with a red meat sauce and an Alfredo sauce with chicken tenderloins, spring salad and garlic bread along are on the menu. There will also be a variety of delicious, homemade desserts served. The cost for a ticket for entry, dinner buffet, dessert and coffee is $20; cash bar will be available.

This year the club has added a wine pull, so guests are invited to take a $10 chance on getting one of more than 50 bottles of wine, with a few of them valued at more than $70. In addition to the wine pull, the club has more 25 raffle baskets ($1 tickets or six for $5), “tremendous” silent auction items donated by area businesses and a $500 cash raffle prize (only 1,000 tickets available at $3 each or two for $5.)

“All the monies raised go to fund scholarships for local high school students. The club has been fortunate, through the support of the community, to provide monies to seven graduating seniors,” a release from the club states.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for ticket holders to preview the baskets and auction items. Dinner will be at 6:45 p.m. Advance reservations are required to ensure a game table is ready for guest and their group.
