The Samuel Phoenix Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored several Walworth County students at the Geneva Lakes Museum during their March meeting.

Students receiving the Youth Good Citizenship Award at the middle school level included: Jamie Pehkonen from Phoenix Middle School in Delavan, Olivia Patek from Walworth Grade School, Pamela Domres from the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, Madisen Serdar from St. Frances de Sales Catholic School in Lake Geneva, Janelle Simons from Delavan Christian School, Mariah Stewart from Our Redeemer Lutheran School and Tyler O’Brien from Lakeland School.

The students were selected by the respective staff members of their local school for exhibiting honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism. It is always a pleasure for the local DAR chapter to recognize such outstanding students and patriots.

At the high school level, the Good Citizen Award was presented to Colleen Wall who attends Badger High School in Lake Geneva. At the high school level, the candidate receives local recognition and is eligible for a scholarship from the state and national Daughters of the American Revolution if she is selected as the top essay writer at each level.
