Comets season comes to end

Coach says ‘it was an honor’ to coach the three seniors

The Delavan-Darien boys’ basketball season came to an end on Feb. 26 at the hands of a familiar foe. The Comets lost their WIAA regional opener in Burlington 65-34.

The Comets lost to the Demons twice in the regular season including as recently as Feb. 15. Things did not go the Comets’ way on Feb. 26 with the Demons leading 27-16 at the half and outscoring the Delavan-Darien 38-18 in the second half.

“We could not get going last night,” head coach Chris Hembrook said of the D-DHS offense. “I thought Burlington played good defense, but we just struggled offensively.”
