DAVID E. JEFFRIES

David Eilert Jeffries, 64, passed away Feb. 28, 2019, at his home in East Troy. He was born Dec. 21, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa, to the late Dr. Milo Easton Jeffries and Wilma Easley Jeffries of Marshalltown, Iowa.

He graduated from Marshalltown High School, he received his Bachelor of Science in anthropology from Northwestern University, he earned an MBA from Creighton University, and a School business management degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

David was a retail buyer for Gold Circle in Columbus, Ohio, Service Merchandise in Nashville, Tennessee, Gander Mountain in Wilmot, and Snap-on Tool in East Troy. He also was employed by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

He served as executive director of the East Troy Education Foundation for one year.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, retired East Troy Elementary Principal, Barbara Dickens Jeffries (formerly of Ashland City, Tennessee); son, Justin Smith; sisters, Susan Williams Weldon and Kathy Jeffries Jones; nephews, Jay Williams, Kevin Williams (Jennifer), Adam Jones; niece, Amanda Jones Penney (Jonathan); and great-nephews, Wyatt and Asher Williams.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
