UW Varsity Band concert a fundraiser for DDHS

The Delavan-Darien High School Band Booster Club and the DDHS Band program will welcome the University of Wisconsin-Madison Varsity Band to the gymnasium at the high school in early March.

Scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m., members of the community are encouraged to come for a high-energy performance of favorites from the Camp Randall songbook, the Fifth Quarter and other selections as Director Michael Leckrone, in his last year as director of the band, conducts the show.

The DDHS Band Booster Club’s goal is to bring this Wisconsin tradition to families in the Delavan-Darien area, while raising funds for high school band program and the upcoming travel during spring break for the DDHS Band trip to New Orleans.

“Whether you are a music lover, proud UW alumni, or a hopeful Badger-to-be, you will thoroughly enjoy this spirited show,” a release about the event states.

Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children ages 2 to 14. A four pack of tickets for $40 is also offered.

Tickets are available for purchase in Delavan at LSJ Music, The Delavan Lake Store, Piggly Wiggly and the Delavan-Darien High School activities office. Tickets will also be sold at some DDHS sporting events.

In Elkhorn, tickets are available at Breber Music.

The DDHS Band Booster Club is seeking sponsorships for the event until Feb. 12. For more information or to sign on as a sponsor contact the club at DDHSBandBoosters@gmail.com.
