The Elkhorn Area High School girls basketball held Burlington to seven points in the second half and beat the Demons 56-19 Jan. 18 in a Southern Lakes Conference game at Burlington.

The Elks beat Kenosha Bradford 65-47 Jan. 15 in a non-conference game at Elkhorn.

Elkhorn (11-4, 4-4 SLC) played a non-conference game Tuesday at home against Edgerton, and plays a SLC game Friday at home against Waterford.

Burlington is winless this season. The Demons’ overall record is 0-16. Burlington is 0-8 in SLC play.

“We got out early and dictated the pace,” Elks coach Jeff Brown said. “We got the shots we wanted in the first half. I’m proud of them for staying focused and taking care of business.”

Elkhorn led 37-12 at halftime, and outscored the Demons 19-7 in the second half.

“Elkhorn had a great transition offense going, and we struggled to get back and defense,” Burlington coach Kyle Foulke said. “We limited our turnovers, leading to a lot of good shots – we just had a hard time making shots.”
