In August, six boy scouts and two leaders from Elkhorn’s Boy Scout Troop 243 attended Florida Sea Base, a Boy Scouts High Adventure trip. Sea Base is located at the Brinton Environmental Center in Summerland Key in the Florida Keys.

The boy scouts on the trip were David Broga, Thomas Gomez, Matthew Harvey, Brian Pody, Mike Begley and Lucas Mendez and leaders were Carl Harvey (Scoutmaster) and Brian Broga.

While there, the group participated in the weeklong Florida Keys Adventure. It featured a variety of activities including paddleboarding, ocean kayaking, sailing, boating, catching fish and lobsters, and snorkeling.

They also traveled to Big Munson Island for an overnight camping adventure and visited Key West. The scouts service project was cleaning up the beach at Bahia Honda State Park. Morgen Collins was their guide for the week.
