Man gets 16 years for assault, child porn

A jury found a Delavan man guilty of two sexual offenses against him in September, and the man pleaded guilty to three other sexual offenses Dec. 12.

Hector Perez, 40, was sentenced Nov. 16 to eight years in prison and 10 years extended supervision on each of two charges of attempted first-degree sexual assault of a child. A jury found him guilty of those charges Sept. 25, and the sentences are to run concurrently.

Perez pleaded guilty Dec. 12 to three other charges that were pending in the case – child exploitation, possession of child pornography and exhibition of child pornography. He was sentenced to five years in prison and five years extended supervision on the exploitation charge and three years in prison and three years extended supervision on each of the pornography charges. Those sentences are to run concurrently with the sentences for the sexual assault convictions.

According to the criminal complaint, a video uploaded to Facebook that showed a 7- to 9-year-old boy engaged in bestiality was traced to Perez’s Facebook account in Delavan.

On Jan. 18, a forensic interview was conducted of a 6-year-old girl during which she described Perez requiring her to perform a total of 11 sex acts at two different residences, according to the complaint.
