Dennis “ Denny” G. Moore, 80, of Elkhorn, died at his residence Dec. 23, 2018.
He was born Oct. 13, 1938, in Richland Center, to the late George and Mary (Tormey) Moore. He was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Nee at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richland Center on Jan. 28, 1961. She died March 20, 1989. On Feb. 10, 2017, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Elkhorn, he was united in marriage to Kathleen S. Truesdale.
Dennis worked as a civil engineer employed for more than 20 years with Zenith Tech of Waukesha retiring in 2010. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Elkhorn, enjoyed gardening and was an outstanding cook and baker. He and his buddies got together for many years for lunch. They called themselves the “Friday Lunch Bunch.”
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters, Barbara (Patricia) Moore of Wauwatosa, and Karen Frohwirth of Sussex; three stepchildren, Kelly (Sandra) Truesdale, Kris (Denny) Mohr and Eric (Cheryl) Truesdale all of Elkhorn; a grandson, James Frohwirth; nine step-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald (Marla) Moore of Davenport, Iowa; and a sister; Jane (Joe) Gilbertson of Mesa, Ariz. Dennis was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy, and a son, Gregory J. Moore.
Memorial mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, with the Rev. Oriol Regales officiating. Visitation will follow the service with a luncheon at the church. Memorials may be made to VIP Services 811 E. Geneva Street Elkhorn, WI 53121.
