The Big Bundle Up underway in county

Donations to be given to the Clothing Outreach Center in Elkhorn

The Walworth County Visitors Bureau is accepting new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing items as part of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s Big Bundle Up campaign. The Big Bundle Up is a statewide collection program that runs through Jan. 2.

As part of the Big Bundle Up, the Walworth County Visitors Bureau will give each person who donates five cold-weather items a free buy-on-get-one-free card. One card equates to five free items; two cards, 10 items; and three cards, 15 items.

BOGO cards are normally sold for $10 each and contain deals from businesses throughout Walworth County.

This is the eighth year of the Big Bundle Up. To date, the program has collected 134,441 warm winter items to help families in need. In addition to the Walworth County Visitors Bureau Travel Information Center, other collection sites, including Travel Wisconsin Welcome Centers, are located throughout the state. Visit TravelWisconsin.com for a full listing of donation sites.

To assist the Walworth County Visitors Bureau, member businesses will also accept donations as part of The Big Bundle Up. Those businesses include the Walworth County Fairgrounds as well as the following Lake Geneva locations: The Bottle Shop; Clear Water Outdoor; Lake 96.1 WLKG; Lake Geneva Canopy Tours; Sprecher’s Restaurant & Pub; Tristan Crist Magic Theatre.

All items donated at this location at the center and member businesses listed above will be given to the Clothing Outreach Center in Elkhorn.
