Elkhorn student to compete down under

Qualified for a tourney in Australia, local athlete seeks sponsorship

Mackenzie Constable, a sophomore at Elkhorn Area High School and an avid track athlete recently qualified to compete in the 2019 Down Under Sports Tournament on the Gold Coast of Australia.

“I qualified in our regional and state competition for the 4×1 relay team and placed second overall with a time of 50.48. However, I am most proud of my open 100 time at 13.46 and am very close to qualifying for gold,” Constable said. “My 2019 goals are to improve all my personal records, qualify and place in the state championship and compete and place in Australia.”

Constable will be leaving for the Gold Coast of Australia on July 6, 2019 and is looking for support to help pay for the trip.

“I would love support in making my dream a reality. I am confident I will make our state, community and school proud with my performance and my hope is to bring home a gold medal,” she said.

To help cover travel, lodging, coaching and racing costs, Consable is actively seeking sponsorship.

“Any support you can give is a huge step toward me reaching my goal. I am truly thankful for your support and encouragement,” she said.
