Rosalie Vienne Hayes, of Cedarburg, passed away on Nov. 20, 2018, at the age of 83. Rose leaves behind her five children, Elizabeth (Scott), John, James (Kathy), Jerry (Trish) and Matthew (Brooke), 11 grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years and her brother, Joe Marsiglia.

She was born and grew up in Palatine, Ill. She was the sixth child of Anthony Marsiglia and Lillian Andronico, both immigrants from Sicily. Rose graduated from Palatine High School in 1953, and married John Francis Hayes in 1957. She raised her five children in Palatine and Williams Bay, before moving to Cedarburg in 1990.

Rose was active and involved in her community and the church her entire life. She worked for the Post Office in Williams Bay, at the Mill in Cedarburg and was a school crossing guard. Rose led bible studies in prisons, was a long time member of Aglow International and volunteered at Family Sharing of Ozaukee County.

Her life was defined by her love of family and her faith in God. She was a loyal friend, was always available to help when called upon and was concerned for the welfare of others. She loved to read and studied the Bible every day. Rose adored her grandchildren and was happiest when spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A service to celebrate Rose’s life will be held at CrossWay Church, W156 N10041 Pilgrim Rd., Germantown, on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
