A local veterinarian office will celebrate its 10-year anniversary this week with an open house event. It will wrap up a fundraiser for the county’s K9 unit the same day.

Animal Clinic of Elkhorn opened 10 years ago and has been at its current location, north of the city on highway 12/67, for the past four years.

In celebration of the anniversary, the clinic will host an open house event from 5 to 7 p.m., Oct. 25. The event is free and open to the public and will feature food from LD’s BBQ, giveaways – including animal food, a year of heart guard, and flea/tick protection – and a variety of products on display.

The event is family friendly but it’s requested that people leave their pets at home in an effort to prevent spreading illnesses and keep attendees safe.

“We’re really excited about the event and hope people come out for it,” Tonlene Skilling, a veterinary assistant, said.

There will also be a demonstration by the Walworth County Sheriff’s K9 Unit, making it a fitting time to wrap up a fundraiser that’s been ongoing at the clinic.
