DARLENE HARDING

      Darlene June Harding, 94, died Oct. 11, 2018, at Wellington Place in Fort Atkinson.

She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Pershing, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Charlotte (nee Brink) Bridges. She was the oldest of four siblings. On April 12, 1941, she married William (Bill) Harding. They moved to Waukesha, where they owned and operated the Main Way Market and the LaVista Drive In with Darlene’s sister and brother-in-law.

Darlene also was an employee of Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where she worked as an LPN. She was a longtime member of the Westbrook Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as youth group leader.

Darlene is survived by her son Alan (Diane) Harding, of Whitewater; daughter Lana Harding, of Spooner; sister Shirley Bridges, of Brookfield, and grandchildren Jack (Beth) Harding, Scott (Carlin) Harding and Jaime (Jeff) Ramlow. She was also great-grandmother to Andrew, Brandon, Megan, Lucas, Samantha, Jacob, Brady, Madelyn and Carter, as well as beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, William; son Gary (Sally) Harding; grandchildren Todd Harding and Steven Harding; sister Gail Prelozni and brother William Bridges.

Visitation will be Oct. 23 at St. Matthews Church, 313 W. Main St, Palmyra, with a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and service at 1 p.m. Darlene’s love for her family will live on and never be forgotten.
