Delavan area organizations collaborated to host the first Delavan Wine Walk on Sept. 27 in downtown Delavan.

Visit Delavan, the Delavan-Darien Rotary Club, the Delavan Historic Foundation, the Delavan Downtown Project Management Team and 96.1 WLKG got together to host the event at locations along the historic brick street.

LSJ Music Co., Curate Interior Design, Main Street Manor, Brick Street Dealz and Gypsy Song Design, Bradley’s Department Store, Lubick Gallery and Gifts, Homestyle Bakery, Pac-Ratz, Carefree Travel, Remember When, Beall Jewelers, Rushing Waters Trout House, Headlines Salon and Scene II were all stops along the way. Red and white wines from around the world were available for tastings.

“The event was extremely successful,” said Heather Hazlett, marketing manager for Visit Delavan. “We had an excellent turnout for a first round of a new event.”

“Based on the comments from the businesses that participated and the participants that attended the event, it was a success,” Delavan City Administrator Denise Pieroni said.

“It was a success in that events like this, as with our other events, showcase the downtown, the businesses, and the community overall,” said Ryan Schroeder, alderman and member of the Downtown Project Management Team.
