New Beginnings APFV opens Whitewater office

It already was serving clients in Whitewater. And besides, county lines mean nothing when it comes to serving people in crisis situations.

New Beginnings APFV has served victims of domestic violence from its location in Elkhorn since the late 1970s.

However, it has added staff and opened a new office at 143 W. Main St. in downtown Whitewater this week, where it will help local residents, including those on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus, plus the communities of Palmyra and Fort Atkinson and spots in between.

“The state asked if we could help meet a need, and we said yes,” APFV Executive Director Heidi Lloyd said. “We brainstormed with people from neighboring counties and came up with a plan … we will serve the southern half of Jefferson County and PAVE will take over the northern half.”
