LORRAINE M. MILLIS

Lorraine Margaret Millis, 91, of Whitewater, passed away Sept. 15, 2018, at Sunset Ridge Assisted Living in Jefferson.

Lorraine was born on Oct. 3, 1927, the daughter of Hector and Irene Fraser. After completing high school, Lorraine attended the Art Institute in Milwaukee. On Feb. 17, 1951, Lorraine married Walter James Millis; they had five children and were together until Walter passed away in December 2011. Her most cherished times were spent with her husband, whom she adored, their cats and Pattie their dog. Lorraine was in her element when she could be outdoors working in her flower gardens, but nothing could compare with her and Walter’s love of camping. She would be packed and ready to go at even the suggestion of a camping trip. She also loved to have her kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren come to visit.

She is survived by children Gary Millis, Westfield; Ann Rhodes, Reading, Pa.; Kim Millis, Palmyra; Steve (Cindee) Millis, Whitewater; Bill (Lara) Millis, Merrill; grandchildren: Eric, Holly, Amber, Mia, Jesse, Bryon (Dana), Heather, Jim, Joshua, Emerson, Abram and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Allan Fraser, of Florida.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Walter, her sister, Donna, and her parents.

Lorraine’s family wishes to thank Laura and all of her staff at Sunset Ridge in Jefferson for the wonderful and compassionate care that Lorraine received. They truly made sure Sunset Ridge felt like home to her for the last three years of her life.

We would also like to thank St. Croix Hospice for their assistance.

Per Lorraine’s wishes, a private family gathering honoring her life will be held.

The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, is assisting the family.
