In an effort to offer members of the greater community a place to gather, be entertained – and for some, the opportunity to share – an open mic event is being held on Friday nights.

Held at Dietrich Studio and Gallery in Sharon, the weekly events are open to all and can feature a variety of talents, including readings, comedy, poetry and music.

The idea behind hosting the events is to share the arts, offer a community gathering place and bring people to downtown Sharon in the process.

“Our open mic event focuses on performance arts like poetry and spoken word, comedy and music,” David Dietrich, who owns the studio, said.
