ELLEN D. ‘BEA’ OBERHOLTZER

Ellen D. “Bea” Oberholtzer, age 77 of East Troy passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.

She was born Jan. 22, 1935 in Denmark to parents Soren and Valborg Jensen. She moved to North Prairie when she was 19.

On Dec. 29, 1952 she married the late “Obie” and they resided in North Prairie until their move to East Troy.

They were longtime residents of the East Troy area and owners of Beulah Vista Restaurant on the north shore of Lake Beulah, Peg’s Supper Club on the east shore of Lake Beulah, and Obie’s Cobblestone Bar and Restaurant on the village square.

“Bea” was a member of the Wisconsin Tavern League, and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

She will be missed by her children, Mike Oberholtzer and Cindy (Jerry) Kuczynski; grandchildren, Karina, Kyle, and Tommy Kuczynski, Samantha Price, and Isabelle (Ben) Spike; and great-grandson, Soren Obie Spike; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Penny Price.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at 6 p.m., at the Legacy Funeral Home with a visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Interment North Prairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family are greatly appreciated.

  1. I grew up in North Prairie in the 1960’s and am curious to know if Ellen was the daughter-in-law of Mabel Oberholter of North Prairie, book keeper to the late Sol Engle in the 1950’s.
