Funds for respite care

The Whitewater Dementia Friendly Community Initiative received a $600 grant from the Whitewater Community Foundation to purchase supplies for its Rockin’ Respite site and to make elder care boxes to share with the library. These boxes will contain activities for a partner so the other can make dinner, do laundry or have a few quiet moments. Seated, from the left, Therese Kennedy, Deb Weberpal, Pat Metz and Mary Beth Byrne; standing, Mark Dorn, Lyn Wolfe, Dorie Hanson and Bonnie Miller. Dorn belongs to both committees, while Kennedy and Miller are with the community foundation. Applications are being accepted for those needing respite by calling 262-473-0535. (Submitted photo)
