Man to be tried in two cases of porn, showing genitals

Pretrial conferences are scheduled for December and January for a Lake Geneva man charged with pornography and exposing his genitals to a child in two different cases.

Carlin C. Pillman, 34, was charged in 2014 with three counts of possession of child pornography. He was charged in December in a separate case with exposing his genitals to a child and five counts of possession of child pornography. Charges of child sexual exploitation and child enticement against him were dismissed in December.

In the 2014 case, he is scheduled for a pretrial conference Dec. 6 and a three-day jury trial beginning Dec. 10.

The charges that were dismissed stemmed from allegations of an inappropriate relationship Pillman had with his teenage babysitter in 2014.

According to the 2014 complaint on the initial child pornography charges, a Department of Justice investigation regarding file-sharing and downloading of child pornography traced images to Pillman’s IP address in the Town of Linn. His home was searched on May 14, 2014, and police found three videos that Pillman admitted viewing that showed prepubescent girls engaged in sex acts with adult men, according to the complaint.

While police were investigating Pillman on the child pornography charges, Department of Justice agents found nude photographs of a young girl on Pillman’s cell phone. Pillman’s ex-wife identified the girl in the photos as their babysitter who was 15 or 16 years old at the time, according to the complaint.

The girl, who was 19 years old at the time of the investigation into the matter, said Pillman also sent her a picture of his penis, according to the complaint.

In the case filed last year, a pretrial conference is scheduled for Jan. 10 with a three-day jury trial set to begin Jan. 14.
