Lofy Landscaping wins consolation championship in Lake Geneva YMCA softball

In Thursday night’s Lake Geneva YMCA Men’s Softball consolation playoff tournament, Lofy Landscaping run-ruled its first opponent with ease before hanging on to edge Delavan CRC in the title game, 20-14. Team manager Kevin Lofy, a Lake Geneva native who now resides in Elkhorn with his wife and one-year-old child, assembled a squad that began the season in an offensive rut before turning things around with impressive hitting performances in the season’s final month. Lofy’s team last lost by a 7-2 score at the end of July, but bashed its way to the title and earned a team trophy Thursday. On Friday night, the championship playoff tournament begins at 6:30 p.m., with Wormburners (manager Chad Coss), Fat Cat’s (Beau Roddy) and Matusik Builders (Vaughn Bourassa), a team consisting of Big Foot grads, as the title favorites. Members of Lofy Landscaping are Kevin Lofy, Elkhorn, Mike Kearns, Lake Geneva, Eric Zweifel, Delavan, Phil Wester, Elkhorn, Jake Harvey, Delavan, Andy Logterman, Darien, Bobby Smith, Twin Lakes, Bryce Davis, Darien, Logan Rios, Delavan, Avery Rios, Delavan.
