Darien gas station site to be revitalized

The intersection of Highways 14 and X in the Village of Darien might soon have a new gas station and convenience store in place of the closed station that occupies the site.

Mahesh Sharma, on behalf of MVS Oil LLC, applied for a conditional use permit to redevelop the site. The Darien Village Board approved the permit July 16.

The existing building on the site will be demolished to make way for a new 3,696-square-foot convenience store. The station will have four regular fuel pump islands covered by a 117-foot by 24-foot canopy. No diesel fuel will be sold at the site.

More details can be found in the July 26 Delavan Enterprise.
