The annual golf outing to benefit VIP Services, Inc. raised nearly $120,000.

It was held June 25 at Big Foot Country Club in Fontana and kicked off with a welcome from co-chair Cherie Ackman.

Funds were raised through sponsorships, participant entry fees, raffle ticket sales and a wine cork pull, along with loud and silent auctions. The loud auction featured a “program fund” for VIP’s new therapeutic recreation program.

The event featured numerous sponsors including Kikkoman as the event sponsor, Tankcraft/Plasticraft as the awards dinner sponsor, and MPC as the lunch sponsor.

Bringing the event to a close was a reception and program that featured comments by Ed Scaro, board president, and Cindy Simonsen, executive director.

“We are very grateful for the incredible generosity from the community. As funding for human services programs continues to decrease, fundraising is more crucial than ever and helps us provide programs and services for people with disabilities,” according to a statement from VIP.

Serving on the Golf Outing Executive Committee were the following members of the greater community: Cherie Ackman and Bob Putnam (co-chairs), Cheri Brost, Rose Crandall, Kathi George, Jim Homan, Regan Homan, Larry Kosiek, Donna Neshek, Bill Ring and Mark Stinebrink.
