ROSEMARY BERGSMA

Rosemary Bergsma, long-time resident of Springfield, passed away July 10, 2018, at the age of 89.

She was born June 27, 1929, the second daughter of Calvin and Sadie Behl in Assumption, Ill.

She is survived by three sisters, Betty (George) Pulver, of Arizona, Josie (Wayne) Johnson, of California, and Patricia (Victor) Johnson, of Illinois.

She was married to Louis Bergsma for almost 60 years and raised seven children – John, of Como, Linda (Lyle) Albers, of Montello, Michael (Linda), of Edgerton, Pamela (Larry) Kundert, of Lake Geneva, Peter (Mary), of Springfield, Susan (Ted) Fellows, of Louisville, Ohio, and Barbara, of Avoca. She has 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, daughter, Linda, brothers-in-law George and Wayne and great-granddaughter Taylor.

Rosemary was a prolific letter writer and always kept her hands busy with baking, canning, sewing and especially knitting. She spun her own yarn and kept everyone in the family supplied with sweaters and hats. Over the years she donated many hats to the community through the library, school and church. Because she was an avid reader, the family will donate any memorial gifts to the Lake Geneva Public Library.

Friends are invited to join the family in a time of remembrance at the American Legion Hall, 735 Henry St., in Lake Geneva, from 1 to 3 p.m. July 29 with an informal service at 2 p.m.

Miller-Reesman, Kasuboski, Haas, and Dahl Funeral Home in Union Grove is assisting the family.
