IRENE GEYE-POLYOCK

Irene Geye-Polyock, formerly of Lake Geneva, passed away June 29, 2018, at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Pearland, Texas, which was near her daughter’s homes.

She was born May 11, 1928. Irene attended the University of Lincoln, Nebraska where she met Don Geye. They were married in 1948. In the next seven years they had their four children. Don finished his master’s degree, and they moved to the Lake Geneva area where Don taught science and math at the Northwestern Military and Naval Academy and Irene worked as secretary to the principal, eventually building a home on the lake. Don passed away at the age of 60 in 1984. After he was gone, Irene worked at Filtertek Inc. for 15 years. In 1990, she met Howard Polyock in a Spanish class, and they were married. Howard passed away 17 years later.

Irene was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Paul Geye, Nancy Hensley, Wayne Geye and Carolyn Gutierrez; and eight grandchildren; step grandchildren; and many grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Geye; second husband, Howard Polyock; also two sisters, Lu Spencer and Norma Henry.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. July 28 at the graveside in the Walworth Cemetery.
