The City of Elkhorn Common Council voted in favor of an access road to connect the Market Street project to the city water tow-er on the Walworth County Fairgrounds at its June 18 meeting.

Alderman Scott McClory said the city was approached by representatives of the Walworth County Fair seeking a roadway extension project between the new high school parking lot and the city’s existing water tower on the fairgrounds.

McClory said the commit-tee recommended the city split the cost of the project with the fairgrounds, with the city’s portion accounting for half of the project’s total cost, but not exceed $50,000.
