A northern trip over the weekend didn’t turn out all that well for the East Troy Post 188 legion baseball team.

In three losses Saturday and Sunday at Antigo, the legion was outscored, 39-9, to drop to 6-7 overall. East Troy opened the two-day trip with a 14-3 loss June 23 to Stevens Point, followed by a 10-5 loss to D.C. Everest later that day and a 15-1 loss to Chippewa Falls on June 24.

East Troy opened its week with a 4-3, eight-inning victory over visiting Delavan-Darien on June 22.

Chippewa Falls scored in all four of its at bats in the tournament finale to end the game via the 10-run rule. East Troy had three hits and committed four errors in the loss.

Tyler Dopke and Brandon Bakken combined to pitch four innings for the legion.

In the second game Saturday against D.C. Everest, the legion fell behind, 9-2 after four innings, but rallied for three runs in the fifth to cut into the deficit.

That was as close at Post 188 would come, as D.C. Everest held East Troy scoreless in its last two at bats.

Bakken drove in a run for the legion. Kyle Lehman pitched five innings and struck out four.

East Troy held a 1-0 lead in its tournament opener against Stevens Point, and trailed by just four runs heading into the bottom of the fourth inning when Stevens Point exploded for nine runs to put the game out of reach.

Post 188 added two runs in the fifth inning to close out the scoring. Roman Evans had two hits, while Matt Kisting drove in two.

Evans took the loss, as he struck out two in 3-1/3 innings of work.

Visiting Delavan took a 3-1 lead with two runs in the top of the eighth inning June 22, but Post 188 responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame to pick up the 4-3, walkoff victory.

Lehman led the offense with two hits. Mike Rosin struck out four in five innings of work.

The legion travels to Stonebrook tonight for a 6 p.m. game and to Janesville on Monday. Post 188 will host Big Foot on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
