At a special council meeting on April 30, the City of Elkhorn Common Council opted in favor of getting at least two proposals for an environmental assessment of the land the current Public Works garage sits on with the hope of possibly building a new City Hall at the site once the garage is demolished.

According to City Administrator Sam Tapson, the current Public Works garage at 12 E. First Ave. is set to be demolished regardless of future use once construction is finished on the new Public Works building and all vehicles and equipment has been moved.
