MURIEL G. SHAW

      Muriel Grace Shaw, 95, a lifelong resident of Elkhorn, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018, at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan.

She was born in the Town of Geneva, Dec. 1 1922 to the late Thomas and Anna (Lasch) Lannon. Muriel was united in marriage to Harry I. Shaw on Feb. 14, 1946, in Elkhorn. Harry preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2011, after 64 years of marriage.

Muriel worked for Lowell Sweet as legal secretary at the Sweet Law Office in Elkhorn. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Elkhorn. She was active with the Sweet Adeline’s and sang in the church choir with her husband Harry for more than 30 years.

Muriel is survived by her two children, Michael (Debra Lenzen) Shaw of Prescott, Ariz., and Gary (Roger White) Shaw of Brooklyn; a son-in-law, Alan Stangler of Sussex; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lori Stangler, and sister, Myrtle Barber.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. May 23 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, with the Rev. Scott McLeod officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until time of services. Inurnment will be at Hazel Ridge Cemetery Elkhorn.
