Gilbert A. Greene, 87, of Elkhorn, passed away May 2, 2018, at his home in Elkhorn.
He was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Milwaukee, to the late Gilbert and Eleanor (Krohn) Greene. Gil married Jean M. Chrast Feb. 5, 1955, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. He was a veteran who served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1954. Gilbert enjoyed golfing, restoring cars, and working on outdoor projects.
He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 63 years; two children, Linda (Mark) Nilles and Daniel (Susan) Greene; a brother, Clyde Greene; four grandchildren, Jason Billings, Michael (Erika) Billings, Jacob Greene and Hayley Greene; as well as three great-grandchildren, Anna, Jaxson and Alexis Billings. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Beverly; and his brother, Bill.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
