Robert E. Rutzen, 94, of Elkhorn, died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center on April 21, 2018, surrounded by his close family. He was born on Oct. 3, 1923, to the late Margaret (Schmidt) Rutzen.

Robert made Elkhorn his home in 1964 out by North Lake. He enjoyed deer hunting, bingo and refurbishing household items for re-sale.

He proudly owned and operated Bob Rutzen & Son Cement Contractor for many years. He also made a daily stop at Burger King for breakfast every morning for an estimated 30 years.

Robert is survived by his children, Karen Babcock and Ron Rutzen; six grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Eugene, Bernice, Geraldine, and Eleanor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will follow at Hazel Ridge Cemetery, Elkhorn.
