Two Elkhorn Area High School students – Zoe Gatz and Nathan Huberty – will tour with Kids from Wisconsin this summer.

Students, including singers/dancers and instrumentalists, apply online and prepare a song for an audition in February.

“They check your range and work with you on the song to see how you pick up correctives,” said Huberty, who also was part of the troupe last summer.

Gatz served as an alternate in 2016 and said what makes her most excited about KFW is being part of the outreach.

“They teach a portion of dance and band to kids at schools all over, and the kids get to work with us,” she said.

The group tour June 21 through Aug. 17 and their ‘home’ performance will be July 7 at Big Foot High School in Walworth.

For the rest of the interview with Gatz and Huberty – and more information about Kids from Wisconsin – see the April 12 Elkhorn Independent or other Southern Lakes Newspapers’ publications.
