Cloggers to perform ‘Better When We’re Dancing’

The Walworth County Cloggers youth performance team will be performing “Better When We’re Dancing” a fast paced, high-energy, clogging show celebrating Walworth County Cloggers 20th Anniversary.

The show will be performed on Saturday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Irvin L. Young Auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. This will be the ninth showcase performance at Young Auditorium.

Contemporary clogging fuses together influences from other popular dance styles to create an impressive rhythmic dance, according to organizers. This year, 104 dancers come together on the big stage at Young Auditorium to demonstrate their love of this unique dance form, performing to songs the audience is sure to recognize and enjoy.

The Walworth County Cloggers performed their first showcase performance in 2002. As community members learn about this show, attendance continues to increase. The group’s last showcase performance sold more than 1,000 tickets.

“You may have seen this talented group of dancers performing at local fairs and festivals but you haven’t seen anything until you catch their big stage performance. The show is very different. The special lighting and additional effects make this show a ‘don’t miss’ event,” according to a statement in a press release.

Reserved seating tickets are $10 and are available through the ticket office by calling 262-472-2222 or online at tickets.uww.edu.
