Allen takes Whitewater at-large race

Whitewater at-large Alderperson James Allen held onto his seat in Tuesday’s election, fending off contender Brienne Diebolt Brown, according to unofficial results posted by Walworth and Jefferson counties.

It was a tightly contested race on both sides of the county line. Allen received 588 votes in Walworth County, or 52.73 percent, according to the unofficial results. Of the Walworth County votes, Diebolt Brown received 521 votes, or 46.72 percent.

In Jefferson County, the split was 75 votes, or 53 percent for Allen, and 66 votes, or 47 percent, for Diebolt Brown.

Walworth County reported six write-in votes in the race.
