Five vie for three seats on Walworth Village Board

The only locally contested race on Tuesday’s ballot is for the Walworth Village Board where five people have thrown their hat in the ring for three seats up for election.

A forum was held March 22 at Walworth Memorial Library. The candidates for Village Board as well as the school boards for Big Foot High School and Walworth Jt. #1 were invited to attend.

Kristi Reierson served as moderator at the forum and began by explaining the rules: each candidate present was allowed two minutes for an introduction, followed by them answering questions from the audience. Reierson closed out the forum by asking the same question for each category to each candidate present.

Three of the five Walworth Village Board Trustee candidates were present – challengers Louise Czaja and Michael Long and incumbent Randy Maynard. Incumbents LeRoy Nordmeyer and Ed Snyder had previous commitments so weren’t in attendance at the forum but were interviewed separately for the story.

Read what all five candidates had to say, along with preview stories on other area seats on Tuesday’s ballot in the March 30 Times/Reporter.
