Walworth Elementary School recently offered a new program, “Little Sprouts” for young children and their parents. The four-week event was an opportunity to be creative and try new things while learning in the process.

“Little Sprouts” took place in Cathy Boldger’s kindergarten classroom and the activities were designed to engage children in the 1 to 4-year-old age range.

The classroom was set up for a variety of exploratory play that focused on the senses, and the simple act of free, self-initiated play.

“It was hard to determine who had more fun, the parents or the children,” Boldger said.
