Most people have likely heard about the Walworth-Fontana Rotary Club, from fundraisers it hosts to the scholarships it provides but what may not be commonly known is what the draw is for members.

A few officers of the local Rotary shed light on their personal reasons for joining and what it means to them to be a member.

Don Vandello is the executive secretary and has been a member of the Walworth-Fontana Rotary Club since 1989. He lives in Walworth and owns Hoxie Supply Co.

My father was a member of the club and brought me in. I was president in 1991 and 1992, and secretary for 22 years after that,” Vandello said.
