Elkhorn’s Harris Park to get concession stand

The City of Elkhorn Common Council voted unanimously in favor March 5 of approving the construction of a press box and concession stand at the Harris Park baseball fields.

The approval was contingent on the City of Elkhorn Planning Commission approving the project at its meeting Thursday, and also includes waiving the cost of a building permit for the project.

Alderman Bruce Lechner said the Municipal Services and Utilities Committee was approached by the Elkhorn baseball coach about the project, which Lechner said will essentially cost the city nothing as it will be paid for through fundraising efforts by the baseball program.
